Mandarin Honey

The beehives planted in the middle of the mandarin trees produce a fine harvest of fruit. In the region of Castellon de La Plana, along the east coast, where this tangerine honey is harvested.

The average annual temperature is 22°, which helps the mandarin tree grow and bloom!

The fruit forms in winter and continues until March, after the spring bloom. Surprisingly, sometimes you can see the fruit with the flowers.

Intoxicated by the smell, and in search of this nectar, a source of nutrients, the colony’s bees harvest up to three kilos of this liquid a day. A huge amount!

Knowing that the mandarin tree flowers twice a year: once in winter and once in spring, let’s imagine what our bees can harvest in nectar!
