Our organic lychee honey from Madagascar is harvested in an ecologically responsible way. Harvested in the middle of the island of Madagascar, wild lychees bloom spontaneously and abundantly, making bees very happy.

The tree that produces lychees is native to China and is called Litchi chinensis or Chinese lychee. It is a tropical tree that has been cultivated in certain provinces of China for over 2,000 years!

Introduced to Madagascar in the 18th century, it is one of the island’s main resources thanks to an abundant harvest of fruit.

These are exported directly by boat, mainly to Europe. In 2019, Madagascar exported nearly 25,000 tonnes of lychees. This makes it the world’s 5th largest lychee exporter.
