Maritime lavender blooms in April-May. It is harvested in late May/early June. Its color is more amber than lavender honey from Provence. Its taste is more pronounced and its crystallization less fine. A must-try!

Our Maritime Lavender honey was harvested in 2021. Maritime lavender, also known as wild lavender, has a strong lavender flavor.

Our local beekeeper has set up his hives in the Moncayo Natural Park. Moncayo Natural ParkProvince of Zaragoza in Aragon at Calcena. This totally protected area is part of a natural park classified in 1978.

Le Moncayo is the highest peak on the Iberian Peninsula, rising to almost 2,500 metres. Its summit is sometimes snow-covered until May, and bringing the beehives up is a real feat.

Maritime Lavender blooms in April-May and is harvested in late May-early June. Its tall, cylindrical flowers are arranged in spikes. They give off a very strong scent.

The taste of this honey is more pronounced. On the other hand, its crystallization will be less fine, like most spring honeys.

Its dark color helps to identify maritime lavender honey and distinguish it from lavender lavender.

The taste and flavour of maritime lavender honey:

Less well-known than its lavender counterpart, maritime lavender honey is nonetheless very interesting. Its taste is generally much more pronounced, with real floral notes. Above all, its color is more amber than lavender honey from Provence. lavender honey.

It also smells of dried lavender. On the other hand, its crystallization is more granular and is noticeable when tasted. But that’s no problem at all!

Properties of lavender :
