As its name suggests, the Cedar of Lebanon comes from Lebanon, of which it is the emblem.

It is a majestic tree with a conical habit. In Lebanon, it is considered a sacred tree and is mentioned in the three great monotheistic religions.

It grows wild in the mountains, at altitudes of over 1,500 meters.

Cedar plays a crucial role in regulating forest ecosystems. It helps stabilize the soil, preserves moisture and provides a habitat for various species of birds and animals.

Cedar honey from Lebanon is harvested in the region of Bcharréin northern Lebanon. This is the location of the “Cedars of God” reserve. This reserve has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

This forest is said to contain 2 trees that are three thousand years old, 10 trees that are a thousand years old, and trees that are several hundred years old!

Cedar has also spread to the Middle East. It is also found in Turkey, growing between 1400 meters and 2000 meters.

Cedar wood is rot-proof and extremely resistant. That’s why it’s been used to build so many boats, as well as tombs and sarcophagi.

The taste of cedar honey from Lebanon:

Its dark color is unmistakably reminiscent of the color of fir honey. On the other hand, its taste is much closer to vanilla-flavored vanilla fir from Greece. It is long on the palate, exuding vanilla and malty flavors.

The benefits of cedar honey from Lebanon :

Like most honeys, and especially honeydews, Cedar of Lebanon is considered an expectorant. It is a powerful cough suppressant and soothes the respiratory tract. Cedar bud is known to soothe dry skin, particularly eczema.
