The bark is brown and rough, and can reach several centuries, as attested by some individuals near <span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasicile.fr\/\">Ragusa<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasicile.fr\/\">&nbsp;<\/a><\/span>in Sicily.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The leaves, twelve to thirty centimeters long, alternate and evergreen, are oval-shaped and dark green in color.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The flowers, very small, male or female, rarely hermaphroditic, appear from August to October.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The fruits, known as \u201ccarobs\u201d, are a type of&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #000000\">pods <\/span>are ten to thirty centimetres long and one-and-a-half to three centimetres wide. Initially green, they turn dark brown as they mature, in July of the following year. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>They are curved, tough, thick and<span style=\"color: #000000\">indiscernible<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">.<\/span> The&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #000000\">Carob seeds<\/span> are brown, flattened ovoid, biconvex and very hard. They are separated from each other by pulpy partitions. They are numerous, with fifteen to twenty per <span style=\"color: #000000\">pod!<\/span> The pale yellow pulp contained in the pods is floury and sweet when ripe. It is edible and tastes of chocolate.   <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In <span style=\"color: #000000\">Germany<\/span>, roasted carob seeds are used as a substitute for&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #000000\">coffee<\/span>. The seeds can also be sucked like candy. <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The taste and smell of Carob honey:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Carob honey has warm chocolate notes. The taste of cocoa is recognizable. It&#8217;s a favorite with young and old alike.  &nbsp;  This honey keeps very well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The properties of Carob honey :<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Carob honey is reputed to regulate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lecomptoirdumiel.com\/en\/produit\/flower-pollen\/\">intestinal transit<\/a>. It is said to act on constipation and diarrhea. In short, this is a honey with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lecomptoirdumiel.com\/produit\/miel-de-manuka-indice-5\/\">multiple benefits<\/a>.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Did you know?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>In <span style=\"color: #000000\">ancient times,<\/span> seeds were used as a unit of measurement. An ancient legend had it that their mass was regular, but a study has disproved this!
