What is bee bread? Little-known in France and rarely harvested by beekeepers, bee bread is one of the colony’s most important foods, along with honey. Collected from flower pistils, pollen is carried by the worker bee to the hive. She stores it in the honeycomb, mixing it with her own secretions and creating successive layers of packed pollen and honey. Once the alveolus is filled, the mixture ferments naturally within the hive, transforming the pollen into a highly sought-after superfood for its energetic and nutritional properties.
